Summer Neutrals
Readers, I can not tell you how awesome you guys are. I have been gone for a while, and yet you guys are still consistently coming back! Trying to balance school, my Etsy business, and this blog have been a TON of fun, but school has been taking up most all of my time lately. But ya'll are way more than I could hope for for sticking with me.
With that said, here's an easy summer outfit that I put together. This skirt is perfect for summer! It's from J.Crew's 2014 spring line, but I've found some that are similar that are linked below. This Hobo purse is actually an iPad case! It's awesome because it's functional and adorable, but Hobo always produces great quality leather so it is durable and will last me a long time. The hat is from Target back in April or so. It's felt, so it's pretty hot, but then again so is any hat in 90º weather, but I linked some cute alternatives other than felt. My sunglasses are one of my early birthday presents I receiver and they are so amazing. They are my first pair of "real" sunglasses so I am super excited to have a pair that I'm not worries the sense is gonna pop out. These particular glasses, called "Erika", were only released a couple of weeks ago so I was oddly excited to get some of the newest hot of press ones. Rayon also has a whole place where you can customize these, or any, glasses specifically to your liking. But, if buying a $115 pair of glasses is not in your price range (it's not mine either, but I got mine $45 off, which still makes me sweat) you can grab up Targets latest knock off here! I am almost tempted to return the expensive ones and just get Targets, but I really need a good steady pair so I think I'll stick with them. Hope humpday is treating everyone great!

Cinco de Mayo 2015
Happy Cinco de Mayo friends! Today is a day that most Americans celebrate/use for an excuse to drink and party without knowing it's origin. Well a quick history lesson (because I love history), Cinco de Mayo means "the fifth of May" in Spanish, and it celebrates when the Mexican Army defeated the French in 1862 in an unlikely victory. Today, we wear bright colors and drink margaritas to celebrate the day.
So my dress is only $17! It is super fun and flirty and is great to throw on at the beach. The bag was made by 38th&Co. on Easy and is only $28! Her products are great and I always vote to #shopsmall when I can. These Michael Kors are a gift to myself. I got them during Macy's recent "Family&Friends" sale of 25% off, plus I had a gift card so they ended up being under $100 when they retail for $150. The phone case is great because it is cute, but also durable. It will definitely protect my new 6 from bumps and bruises. My tassel bracelets and tassel earrings I made myself and are for sale on my Etsy shop!

Piperlime Dress Coat
So a few weeks ago, Piperlime had an uh-mazing sale, 60% off a huge chunk of their inventory, plus I had some other coupons. So I made it out of there with this beautiful white Tinley Road dress coat, that was normally $150, for $29. Then I paired it with my new leather boots that I got for Christmas for half off. I've found that putting printed tights with my winter skirts/dresses is way more fun than just regular tights. So switch up your wardrobe and try some fun stockings!

Valentine's Day Goodies (For Her + Him)
My favorite time of the year is finally here, Valentine's Day! I love Valentine's Day with a passion, even if I didn't have a significant other, I would still love it. I love giving gifts to my friends and family, especially when they are as adorable as some of the ones I've like below. Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate the people that you love in your life, plus it has a lot of pink and candy, so it's kinda impossible to not love this day. When people say it's really S.A.D day (Single's Awareness Day) it peeves me because there is always people to celebrate, wether you have a "significant other" or not. But if you are struggling with gifts to get that 'one person', fear not! Because I have scoured the Internet for cute goodies for you! (Plus you might just wanna treat yourself to some things;)

Red Pea Coat + Happy 2015!
Happy New Year! I know, I know, it's been about a month since I posted - but after many rescheduled photo sessions, the holidays, and school starting back up, it gave me an unexpected break from writing about my fashion life. And surprisingly, it was really good to take a step back and think about realistically where I wanted this little passion of mine to go. I have always put really high expectations on myself, this blog included, and some time away reminded me that this is just something that I do for fun - and if in the process I teach someone something or inspire them, then that is just extra icing on a super yummy cake. And I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions, but I would love to hear about yours!
But enough of my rant, I want to know how ya'lls holiday was and what you got for Christmas! I was traveling over the whole Christmas week, but we had a great time visiting almost every side of the family. So I have dubbed this Christmas, "the Christmas of Shoes." (L.L. Bean Duck Boots, red Hunters, these awesome Steve Madden booties, Steve Madden leopard heels {almost sold out everywhere}, Nine West leather boots, Dolce Vita suede boots, and Nike Airs) Literally, I have never gotten this many shoes in such a short amount of time! Poor me, I know. The secret is... telling people exactly what you want. That seems obvious, but I know what I want, and I lovee opening my gifts and seeing the things that I have been swooning over for months.
On to the outfit! This is one of my favorite dresses, just a little black dress. But this LBD has tiny gold strands in it - making the details awesome. It also has a great deep V back and flares a lot from the waist (which I love!) - see this post for more. After surfing my favorite blogs back during the holidays, I saw someone pair some floral tights with some boots, and I had an "Ah-ha" moment and I must say, I love the turn out. It's plays up what would be boring tights and yet is still classy. And these awesome booties?! They are half suede and half leather, and did I mention that it has double zippers (that work!)? Like a zipper on the outside of your foot and one on the inside, it's intense but a really cute intense - plus I got them on sale so they ended up being only $90 instead of $150.

Holiday Outfit Ideas
The holiday's are right around the corner! And if you're like me, you're starting to think about that perfect outfit to wear to your special occasions. When I think of Christmas and New Year's, my mind immediately goes to something sparkly. So naturally, I found some awesome skirts to fit. These could be paired with almost any blouse, but the beautiful white collar with the black bow tie? Flawless. And the best part is, it's on sale for $30. These outfits would look great with some sheer black tights. Topped off with my dream stilettos.

What's In My Handbag...
Today I'm teaming up with Rue La La to give you a peek into what's in my handbag and to give you some tips on picking out your own! If you're like me, you always find yourself searching for where you left your purse last - so you can a lot of my time is spent thinking about and looking for handbags. I am always on the hunt for purses that would look good with my wardrobe. Rue La La has written this amazing post on the different types of handbags called "Handbags 101". Basically they have done the leg work for you for when you decided to make the investment and get the more expensive handbag. The article gives details in to why these purses are considered luxury bags and how to maintain them so that they last as long as possible. They also have some great tips and tricks to remember when purchasing a luxury bag to make sure that you are not getting an authentic bag and not being ripped off.
When it comes to handbags, I am definitely a stuffer. Needing so much space to carry around all my essentials automatically makes my favorite type of purse, the "Tote." In Rue La La's Handbag Guide, they outline the different types of bags and the features that make them unique. But my newest and quickly becoming my favorite purse, which I feature in this post, is considered a "satchel."
A few months ago, I came across the "Alexa Tote" by Danielle Nicole, and I was instantly hooked. It's design appeals to me because of it's structure, but also because it has a great mixture of classy and edgy that I love. And then, God looked down on me and saw that I needed a pick-me-up, and sent me into a store I hardly ever go into - Designer Shoe Warehouse (because I would just spend all of my money). I got my black and white mini at DSW for wait for it... $15! And regularly, this bag retails for $80. They are currently have a huge sale for 50% off of the Clearance rack - so take advantage of it while it lasts! I also have linked some great options below, so make sure to check them out!

Fur Vest (#BlackFridayFind)
How was your Thanksgiving peeps?! Did you get any sweet deals this weekend? It's now December and this year is starting to fly by. Normally, I am not the type to go out on Black Friday... like at all. Having to deal with so many people (and rude ones at that) is just something that I usually don't think is worth it. I'd rather wait until Cyber Monday and do all my shopping from the comfort of my oversized pajamas, underneath my flannel sheets, watching Revenge. But this year, our local boutique, Feral Outfitters, had announced early that they were having a 50% off store wide in the wee hours of Black Friday. So, I headed in there on Wednesday to see if there was anything there worth getting out of bed for. And needless to say, there was. I got to the store about 5:30, and I found the most perfect, most comfortable, and most affordable fur vest ($40 with the 50% off). It looks kinda grey in the pictures, but it's more brown in reality.
To top it all off, we did this shoot later on that day at my grandparents cabin that has a huge tree farm on it. So it was beautiful and pretty chilly (ergo, the snow is still on the ground). But it was a great way to spend my Thanksgiving weekend - with my family cutting Christmas trees.

Holiday Dresses
Now that Thanksgiving is over, I am in full Christmas mode! And that means searching for dresses for those holiday parties. Obviously, I go towards gold and sparkly dresses. For some reason I think that's what holiday dresses should look like. So here is some that I have come across in my shopping... The top three are my absolute favorite and I want them all because I can't decide. But be quick! Some of these sell out in a heart beat - check back though, they will most likely restock them.

Gobble Gobble...
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a great day. Thanksgiving is a time to be with your loved ones and to be thankful for all that you have. I am most thankful for my family, for without them I wouldn't be the person I am today and I wouldn't have the faith in Christ that I do. I encourage you all to think about the things you are thankful for and even write them out. There is something so humbling about seeing everything that you are blessed with, and we all have at least one thing to be thankful for.
On to my outfit! I wore this to my grandparent's house where me and all of my family got together and had a huge meal. I'm pretty much eating all the time, so this has never really a day for me where I completely stuff myself and feel awful. But, the food was awesome to say the least. And I get to take it home with me to school, yayy! (every college kids dream). I chose to go the more comfortable route when picking an outfit for today. Originally, I had an awesome dress and heels picked out, but when I woke up I just really wasn't feeling it. So, I fell back on this awesome cardigan that I got at Old Navy for 50% off - $15.
These pictures were taken at my grandparent's house, down by their barn. You'll see their adorable but old dog (Pookie) photobombing some of the pictures! I also got some with my horses! (P.S. It may look warm because of the sun, but it was like swimming in a frozen lake. The wind was crazy.)
Shopping Tips (Black Friday + Cyber Monday)
1. Make a list.
I make lists for everything, so this is a no brainer for me. But I think some people find Black Friday and Cyber Monday so stressful because they are overwhelmed by the quantity of things on sale. By making a list you can organize the things you want and make it easier when searching for your sales. I keep a list in my purse that I continuously add to as I think of things - right now it's a fur vest, red cardigan, Frends headphones, and some polkadot tights. For the holidays, I write out the people I am going shop for, and then think of multiple things I could get them. Because this is the weekend where things sell out in a single minute, so I always have a plan B. This takes the stress of searching for things the day of and finding something you want only for it to be sold out.
2. Make a budget.
This is an obvious tip, but one that is often overlooked. With all these sales in stores and online, you can spend your entire pay check in a minute. Because your mindset is, "Well, this is on a huge sale so I need to get it today." But, there are sales all the time, so be smart about your money.
3. Research.
I do this continuously. I have a set of sites that I look on at least once a week to keep up with their inventory and sales. When you know what you want, checking multiple sites that sell it, and keeping an eye on them from Thanksgiving until the Wednesday after Cyber Monday.
4. Check pre-sales and sales the day of.
These days, everyone is having "pre-Thanksgiving" sales. So make sure you start checking your sites today! Some of my favorite sales going on are:

5. Shop early - but keep checking all day.
You got this one. Know what's on sale, but keep checking all day. Sometimes stores give certain sales at certain times, like Wal-Mart. I keep the sites I want to check open on my browser, and then about every hour I just hit refresh on the home page to see if new sales are up.
